Capilano 7s Tournament Report

On Saturday, August 14th, 2010 under cloudless skies, The Capilano Rugby Club welcomed players and rugby fans to Klahanie Park for the latest in the BC Rugby Sevens 2010 series. With a light breeze ruffling the new flags atop the freshly painted goalposts and temperatures into the upper twenties, hydration and shade were at a premium. The comparatively few fans who attended, were treated to some magnificent, fast and exciting rugby by the comparatively few teams who participated.

Serevi is coming to the Abbotsford Sevens

Legendary superstar, Waisale Tikoisolomoni Serevi, is coming to the Abbotsford Sevens this summer. Serevi is widely acknowledged to be the finest Sevens player of all time. In fact, the parallel is Gretzy to hockey is Serevi to Rugby Sevens.

Inaugural BC Rugby Sevens Series Comes to Esquimalt - Buccaneer Sevens Announced

Victoria BC, May 27 2010 - Embracing the newest Olympic sport in lead up to the Brazil 2016 Games, JBAA and the Esquimalt Fire Department is hosting Buccaneer Sevens, the first event in the inaugural BC Rugby Sevens Series at Bullen Park June 12, 2010 in Esquimalt. The tournament will profile women's and men's seven aside rugby that boasts higher scoring, faster play and shorter games.

British Columbia Rugby Union announces the launch of the BC Rugby 7s Series.

Rugby 7s will be added to the Olympics in 2016 and fans of the seven-a-side game in British Columbia will have seven more series seasons to see.

The IRB Sevens World Series established standards for playing, coaching and refereeing Sevens rugby that should be adopted as our National Sevens standards.
